Storm links

Best wishes to all who are dealing with Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath. The images coming out of New York and New Jersey are unbelievable, and I hope all are safe and soon able to return to something like normal life. Two of my co-bloggers were in the storm's path, and remarkably neither of them was the guy in Florida. Be safe, everyone.

At any rate, here are a few items that have popped up recently, some related to the storm, some not.

• Nice posts from John Sides and Jonathan Bernstein about Sandy's possible political effects. My impression is that the best Obama can do is not screw this up, although Chris Christie's praise is not insignificant. (Also, see Bernstein's comments about why it's totally legit to discuss the political ramifications of a crisis during while it's happening.)
• Actually, I'm predicting a short term bounce for Obama, since Gallup may be going dark for a while.
• Thad Hall explains how Sandy could create a huge logistical crisis for Election Day and possibly affect the outcomes.
• Yes, he cites my work, but read this bit from Dylan Matthews on election ground games anyway.
• Robert Farley is having a contest for predicting the presidential election outcome. Here's my map.
